We are seeking expressions of interest from Victorian-based First Peoples artists for a public artwork that responds to the curatorial vision of a collective future grounded in First Peoples' knowledge.
The artwork will be situated within Laak Boorndap, the expansive new 18,000 sqm public garden delivered as part of the Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation, which will connect NGV: International, The Fox: NGV Contemporary, and Arts Centre Melbourne.
A two-part selection process will determine the successful artist. EOI submissions will be reviewed by a selection panel and approximately three shortlisted artists will proceed to Concept Proposal stage. Selection of the commissioned artist is due in May 2025.
The selected artist will proceed into developed design and fabrication with installation of the artwork to align with delivery timeframes for Laak Boorndap in 2028.
