Melbourne Arts Precinct

The Melbourne Arts Precinct has a rich cultural history and has been an important gathering place for Wurundjeri and visiting Kulin Nations for millennia.

Situated where saltwater meets freshwater, the precinct begins at Fed Square, connects across the Princes Bridge, moves through Southbank around Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne, and NGV International, down to Southbank Boulevard and beyond.

The precinct has developed organically out of our community with the support of crucial, strategic government investments, and is now home to an ecology of creativity that spans learning, making, creating, presenting, collecting and preserving.

Creative collaboration

By working together and keeping community at the heart of everything we do, we will collectively transform the Melbourne Arts Precinct, creating a seamless and sustainable cultural experience to be loved by generations to come.
